CHICAGO — ‘Tis the season for spooky Halloween baskets. No matter what you call them (boo baskets, Halloween baskets, Great Pumpkin presents), more and more people are incorporating little gifts into their October traditions.
My family has chosen to give our little ghoul a gift basket from the Great Pumpkin and incorporated some of the fun stuff from the Charlie Brown movie. But some people give their kids a basket just for the fun Halloween season.
So matter what your reasons are, I think we can all agree: Halloween gift baskets are awesome! It’s no surprise they’re gaining popularity.

First things first, though, if you decide to start the tradition this year: You’ll need an actual basket! You’ll also need the paper filler and if you’re doing it Easter style, some Halloween eggs.
Now that you have the basics, here are some ideas of what to put inside the gift basket:
Halloween Blanket
Spooky Scary Skeleton Cup
A very spooky pumpkin hat
Play-Doh
Cute and spooky stickers
Halloween bubble wands
Pencils and pens to make school extra spooky
Wooden toy puzzle
Halloween Pop It Toy
Spooky books to read at night
Crayons in the shape of a pumpkin, bat or ghostie
A very cool custom T-Shirt

Coloring Books
Treats, candy and yummy things to eat
The possibilities are endless when you decide to add food into the gift basket. Target is stocked up with Halloween versions of your kid’s favorite snack. Maybe a nice caramel apple from Affy Tapple? Or maybe Halloween eggs filled with Hersheys kisses sand Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
What do you think? Any other ideas for Halloween baskets?
