CHICAGO — Boo baskets, or spooky baskets as they’re sometimes called, have made it into the mainstream, but they’ve been a spooky community staple for years.
Boo baskets are a fun way to surprise family, friends, or coworkers with Halloween-themed treats and goodies. These baskets are typically filled with candies, toys, or other delightful spooky surprises. They’re gifted throughout the month of October.
Although they have been part of the spooky community’s traditions for quite some time, their recent surge in social media has brought them into the spotlight.

I’ve added my own twist to these baskets (which I call spooky baskets). Each year, on the first weekend of October, I gift one to my son. The twist? It’s not from me, but rather from the beloved Great Pumpkin. I dedicated a blog post to this Halloween tradition.
The beauty of these baskets lies in their flexibility; there are no rules to follow. If you’re looking for inspiration on what to include in your child’s Halloween basket, I made a list of ideas in my Amazon storefront and LTK page.

Whether you call them boo baskets, Halloween baskets, or Great Pumpkin presents, more and more people are embracing the idea of including little gifts in their October traditions.
Happy gifting!
