CHICAGO — The official full-length trailer for “Scream 6” (officially titled “Scream VI”) was released Thursday morning by Paramount.
The action-packed two and a half minute trailer gave fans a first look at Hayden Panettiere’s return as Kirby Reed — the first time we’ve seen the character since “Scream 4.” She has a dire warning in the movie: “This isn’t like any other Ghostface.”

According to Paramount Pictures, following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a new chapter in New York City.
Much like the teaser, the official trailer opens up with aerial shots of the Big Apple — a ways away from California. We then see Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara (Jenna Ortega) run into a New York City bodega screaming for help.
When Ghostface enters the store, he stabs a man who tries to help the girls. The shop owner then fires shots, but it’s no match for our masked villain.
The trailer ends with footage from the teaser of the group in a crowded train where they spot multiple people dressed as Ghostface, but one of them stands out from the rest — and not in a good way.

The trailer hints that Gale (Cox) is in grave danger — could they pull a Dewey in this sixth installment? (This ghoul hopes they don’t, but you never know!)
Ortega, Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding are all returning to play their previous roles. Returning cast members also include Courteney Cox.
One key character that will be missing in this installment is Neve Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott. Earlier this year, she said she was unhappy with her salary offer to return for “Scream 6” and declined to appear in the film.
The movie premieres March 10, 2023.
