CHICAGO — A teaser trailer for the sixth installment of the “Scream” franchise was released Wednesday morning.
According to Paramount Pictures, following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a new chapter in New York City.
The trailer opens up with aerial shots of the Big Apple — a ways away from California — and then cuts to shots of city folks dressed up for Halloween on the streets and the subway.

While on a crowded train, Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara (Jenna Ortega) spot multiple people dressed as Ghostface, but one of them stands out from the rest — and not in a good way.
“In a city of millions, no one hears you scream,” the text in the trailer reads.
Ortega, Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding are all returning to play their previous roles. Returning cast members also include Courteney Cox and “Scream 4” star Hayden Panettiere.
One key character that will be missing in this installment is Neve Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott. Earlier this year, she said she was unhappy with her salary offer to return for “Scream 6” and declined to appear in the film.
The movie premieres March 10, 2023.
