The legendary rock band has found a new set of fans via the most recent season of “Stanger Things.”
In the last episode of Season 4, Munson (Joseph Quinn), plays “Master of Puppets” while he and Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) are in the Upside Down trying to distract Vecna’s swarm of evil bats. The guitar solo has quickly become one of the best and most favorite scenes from the hit Netflix series.
“Master of Puppets” was released in 1986, and with the popularity of “Stranger Things,” it shot up to No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time.
Metallica was quick to shut down any gatekeeping once the “Stranger Things” episode aired saying on TikTok that “EVERYONE is welcome in the Metallica Family. Whether you’ve been a fan for 40 hours or 40 years, we all share a bond through music.”
On Friday, the band posted a video showing a meet-and-great with Quinn backstage at Lollapalooza and followed up with a tweeted photo of Quinn holding a replica of his “Stranger Things” guitar signed by the band.
“Glad to see you right side up, Joseph!” the tweet said.
