CHICAGO — The McDonald’s Halloween Happy Meal Buckets that caused a social media frenzy last year are back for another round of spooky fun.
Employees confirmed to Splash of Spooky that the plastic pails (sometimes called Boo Buckets) will be back in U.S. restaurants on Oct. 17 until Oct. 30. McDonald’s officially announced their return Friday on their website.

This year’s collection boasts the original three colors, albeit with fresh monikers – a green “Monster Bucket,” orange “Skeleton Bucket” and white “Mummy Bucket.” Joining the lineup is a new, purple “Vampire Bucket.”
“They’ll be gone faster than you can say ‘boo,’ so head to your local McDonald’s to get a festive pail while supplies last,” McDonald’s said on their website.

Blogger Nightmare Nostalgia was the first to report the return of the pails, and food blogger Snackolator was the first to share a photo.
The Halloween buckets originally made their debut in the 1980s and made a triumphant return last year after a long hiatus, causing a frenzy on Spooky IG and throughout the internet.
Collectors and enthusiasts, get ready to hunt down these iconic designs once again!
