CHICAGO — Whisperings of the return of the iconic McDonald’s “Boo Buckets” has sent the internet into a frenzy.
Earlier this month, Nightmare Nostalgia was the first to report that the burger giant was bringing back their Halloween Happy Meal pails on Oct. 18. The Halloween buckets first made their appearance in the 1980s.
McDonald’s has not confirmed the rumors and did not respond to a request for comment.
Food blogger Markie Devo on Saturday posted more information about the pails — which if you were around when McDonalds used to have them, you’ll remember that they replace the actual Happy Meal box the food comes in and acts as the toy.
The Halloween buckets will reportedly be returning with three designs: the iconic orange pumpkin, white ghost and green witch. Only one design will will be in-store at one time.
