CHICAGO — LEGO has shared official photos and a release date for the much-anticipated “Hocus Pocus” LEGO set.
LEGO’s Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage, a 2,316 piece set that LEGO Ideas confirmed last year, will be released on July 4 — just in time for the unofficial start of spooky season. It’s listed at $229.99, according to the company’s website.
Photos were released Monday. Originally, it was thought the set was going to have 12 minifigures, but the official listing has only the iconic 6 main characters and of course, Thackery Binx:
- Winifred Sanderson
- Sarah Sanderson
- Mary Sanderson
- Max Dennison
- Dani Dannison
Fans will be able to build the graveyard from the movie as well as enjoy all the little details of the Sanderson Sisters’ cottage. And yes, there is a Black Flame Candle piece.
The set was created by Amber Veyt, a designer from Belgium, who was shocked when she learned there wasn’t already a LEGO set dedicated to the sassy witches.
Hundreds of people head over to LEGO’s Idea site to pitch their ideas for review. Once an idea gets 10,000 supporters, the LEGO Review Board then reviews it and if approved, it gets turned into an actual toy set. The “Hocus Pocus” idea was approved on July 12 of last year.
