
CHICAGO — It’s official, sistas! The release date for “Hocus Pocus 2” has been announced.
The sequel to the 1993 cult classic will stream on Disney+ on Sept. 30, according to Entertainment Weekly.
EW reports that the audience got a sneak peek at the film at Disney’s upfront presentation.

The footage reportedly showed two girls lighting the Black Flame Candle, which summons the Sanderson Sisters as Midler reportedly yells, “Lock up your children! Yes, Salem, we’re back!”
Details about the much anticipated sequel have been slim.

Release Date
Up until Tuesday, Halloween 2022 was all we knew about a potential release date. The official premiere date is Sept. 30. Filming was completed in January, according to a post from Midler. “THAT’S A WRAP!!!!” Midler wrote on Twitter in January 2022 alongside a picture of the iconic witches looking at a spell book.
The Plot
Three young women accidentally bring back the Sanderson Sisters to modern day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world.
Returning Cast Members
The original three are back in their iconic roles. Bette Midler as Winnie Sanderson, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson, and Kathy Najimy as Mary Sanderson. Actor Doug Jones (Billy Butcherson) will also make a return. It’s unclear if any other cast members are returning. However, various reports stated that Thora Birch would not be returning a Dani.
