A look inside my Halfway to Halloween party

CHICAGO — Halfway to Halloween came and went, but not without a last-minute celebration with friends at a local brewery.

This year was my first time celebrating the big “six months before Halloween” celebration but I think it’s safe to say it won’t be the last.

The party was thrown together last minute. But despite the rushed planning and tight budget, everything came together seamlessly, thanks to a stroke of good luck and the magic of Halfoween.

I was lucky the brewery had a spot open for us, and that everyone invited was suspiciously free that weekend. Talk about the universe bringing us all together.

A spooky spider cake from Sweet Mandy B’s, a ghost filled with treats and little cupcakes were the centerpieces of the table. The ghosty is from Target from maybe three years ago.

Squish! Can you see the spider that got smushed under the cake box? Cupcakes toppers I made myself. But there are similar ones online.

My giant Jack-o-Lantern lit up the table once it started to get dark out.

The inside of the cake was chocolate with vanilla buttercream. Green and orange for a spooky splash of color. Orange party plates because, well, obviously.

My outfit of the day! All the pieces I wore are linked in my LTK page. Everyone kept asking where the skirt was from and it was a Target find. They also have it in pink and other colors.

These spooky cookies from Sweet Mandy B’s were the to-go treats for everyone who stopped by. Cellophane bags and orange ribbon are a must.

The light of a glowing pumpkin is always so perfect. Those pumpkin shaped napkins are from My Mind’s Eye.

Hey! It’s me, again. I had to take a minute to take a pic by the table. The bag is from Petricoffin. Balloons are from none other than Party City.

My husband tolerates my spooky nonsense.
